The Van Conversion Process
All of our minivan modifications are completed at our state-of-the-art facility in Oakville, Ontario. From bumper to bumper, our team of experts works hard to ensure that each and every completed minivan conversion meets Viewpoint Mobility Canada’s stringent levels of excellence.
A typical conversion takes approximately three to five weeks for completion plus delivery time.
Below is a brief overview of Viewpoint Mobility’s production process. You may also watch the video to learn more:
Stage One: Preparation
One of our highly experienced technicians conducts a thorough inspection using a Pre-Production Inspection Checklist, which is faxed to your dealer prior to production. This inspection provides us with a detailed report on the condition of your vehicle prior to production.
The vehicle’s interior is then stripped, including all of the seating. All that remains is the front dashboard and headliner. It is important to note that the utmost care is taken to ensure that the existing seats and interior parts are removed, stored and re-installed in pristine condition in the third stage of production.
Stage Two: Fabrication
The existing floor is strategically measured and accurately cut. Once the floor is removed, the powder-coated frame is installed underneath the van and is welded and screwed into place. The precision employed in this step ensures that the floor is securely installed in the van.
Next, both the gas tank and exhaust are replaced. At this point, the vehicle is ready to enter the Interiors stage.
Stage Three: Interior Finishing
In this stage, the original carpeting and flooring are replaced with brand new carpeting and flooring. Our technicians also install factory-fresh, specially molded side panels and other elements that are specific to that particular van.
The seating and other interior parts that were removed in the preparation stage are then carefully re-installed.
Stage Four: Quality Control
In this stage, our Quality Control personnel meticulously clean and detail the van and return it to showroom condition. We take special care in detailing the vehicles because our customers matter to us.
Stage Five: Final Inspection
An in-depth final inspection is completed to ensure that everything on the van is working properly (i.e. ramp, seating, etc.) and that the final product meets and exceeds our customers’ expectations.
Once the vehicle passes the final inspection, your dealer is notified and the van is ready for delivery.
